University School Parents’ Association
You know your child’s school provides a place to learn, grow, and mature, but you don’t always know what goes on there. How can you support your child’s development and make sure both your child and you have a positive experience at school? It takes teamwork between you and us. We respect the deep love you feel for your child. We also want to relieve some of the anxiety you may feel by working with you for the benefit of your child. Parents and schools are better together.
One way to make your University School journey more worthwhile for your children is to show them by example what it means to be a good citizen. Be involved! Volunteering is vital to enriching your child’s experience at an independent school. The Parent’s Association is perfect place to coordinate all of our efforts in that regard under one big tent. The school will benefit, but so will you. You will meet other parents who can give you deeper insights into the lives of your children and their classmates. You’ll get to know the staff better and gain perspective and insight into why the school does what it does. And you’ll be an excellent role model for your child.
All parents and guardians are automatically members of the University School Parents’ Association. Teachers and school staff are also active members of this essential group, which supports meaningful connection among our students, families and school. As a USPA member, you are invited to participate in volunteer opportunities within the school throughout the year as you are available and have interest. The families of our creative, talented students are key to the community we so greatly value at University School.
The USPA holds regular meeting that you are encouraged to attend! Come join to learn about what is going on at the school, discuss with school leaders, and coordinate ways to help support the school.
This year, meetings will be held on the first Friday of the month, alternating between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m.
We are extremely grateful for all the help and support provided by our Parents’ Association. We are truly better when we all partner together.
